Israel paves the way for killing by remote control

NAZARETH // It is called Spot and Shoot. Operators sit in front of a TV monitor from which they can control the action with a PlayStation-style joystick.

Spot and Shoot, as it is called by the Israeli military, may look like a video game but the figures on the screen are real people – Palestinians in Gaza – who can be killed with the press of a button on the joystick.

The female soldiers, located far away in an operations room, are responsible for aiming and firing remote-controlled machine-guns mounted on watch-towers every few hundred metres along an electronic fence that surrounds Gaza.

The system is one of the latest “remote killing” devices developed by Israel’s Rafael armaments company, the former weapons research division of the Israeli army and now a separate governmental firm.

According to Giora Katz, Rafael’s vice president, remote-controlled military hardware such as Spot and Shoot is the face of the future. He expects that within a decade at least a third of the machines used by the Israeli army to control land, air and sea will be unmanned.

The demand for such devices, the Israeli army admits, has been partly fuelled by a combination of declining recruitment levels and a population less ready to risk death in combat.

Cum multiculturalismul distruge Europa: adoptarea legii Sharia in Marea Britanie

“British papers are reporting that shari’a law has been officially adopted in Britain, with shari’a courts given powers to rule on Muslim civil cases, notably including wife beating. Gordon Brown’s Labour government “has quietly sanctioned the powers for sharia judges to rule on cases ranging from divorce and financial disputes to those involving domestic violence.” Particularly alarming is the fact that Islamic rulings are now enforceable with the full power of the judicial system, through the county courts or High Court. Previously such rulings could not be enforced by the British state.

Shari’a courts with these powers have been set up in London, Birmingham, Bradford and Manchester with the network’s headquarters in Nuneaton, Warwickshire, with two more courts planned for Glasgow and Edinburgh. A visibly pleased Sheikh Faiz-ul-Aqtab Siddiqi, whose Muslim Arbitration Tribunal runs the courts, explains that he had taken advantage of a clause in the British Arbitration Act of 1996, which classifies sharia courts as “arbitration tribunals” whose rulings are binding in law once both parties in a dispute agree to accept its authority.  It goes without saying that battered Muslim wives and disinherited Muslim daughters will “freely choose” the authority of shari’a courts rather than face various unpleasant and potentially fatal consequences of not conforming to the “community’s” rules and preferences.” Citeste restul studiului “Britain Adopts Sharia’s” de Srdja Trifkovic.

Whether it is called multiculturalism, social constructionism, or left-leaning liberalism, the bottom line is that higher education in America these days promotes cultural relativism. Colleges do not advertise this fact for obvious reasons, but look closely at what they say in their promotional literature. Colleges talk about broadening your perspective, expanding your horizons, and offering you new experiences, but they do not talk about teaching you how to make moral judgments, how to distinguish the beautiful from the ugly, and how to seek the truth. That is because secular liberal-arts colleges and public universities do not believe you should make moral judgments, contemplate the beautiful, or acknowledge universal truths. And they don’t believe these things because they do not believe there is something called human nature.

The college you have chosen to attend is no worse, and probably a little bit better, than most colleges when it comes to multiculturalism, but it is always wise to be prepared when you go to school. What you most need to know is that the “higher” in higher education no longer refers to the high culture of the greatest works of Western civilization. In fact, higher education has been trying to dismantle this culture for decades. Higher education today is all about lowering the great books and great ideas of the past to the same basic level. Rather than ask you to climb the great heights of the classics, professors these days will ask you to tear them down. Rather than ask you to test your intellectual strength by pitting yourself against the greatest thinkers of the past, professors will teach you the intellectual equivalent of etiquette and manners. You will learn how to talk without embarrassing yourself in polite, educated company. You will learn what to say, not how to think.

Marxistul Barack Obama bate campii

Corupt de intreaga logica a auto-victimizarii, Barack Obama gaseste mereu motive pentru a sensibiliza pleava electorala. Recent, candidatul Partidului Democrat pentru Casa ALba a declarat ca Republicanii vor speria America cu faptul ca Obama e… negru. Aceasta logica a auto-culpabilizarii demonstreaza ca Barack Obama nu se inscrie in lista personalitatilor care ar trebui sa candideze pentru presedintia SUA. Mi se pare penibil sa te lamentezi ca esti negru si sa ii acuzi pe Republicani ca vor actiona intr-un mod care i-ar pune si pe ei intr-o lumina proasta. Si toate acestea pentru a mai castiga cateva voturi.

In America secolului 21 nu mai exista discriminare rasiala decat in mintile bolnavilor. Si tot ei alimenteaza artificial “rasismul”. Obama vrea sa spuna prin asta ca “omul alb” e pericolul numarul 1 al civilizatiei occidentale, chipurile.

Baconsky nu pune punctul pe i

Teodor Baconsky scrie in Cotidianul un articol despre “cazul” Corneanu. Il apreciez pe Teodor Baconsky pentru ca scrie bine, insa in articolul asta nu vrea sa spuna nimic. Baconsky se intreaba: “mai poate astăzi o Biserică ortodoxă dintr-un stat membru UE să diabolizeze ca „eretică“ o altă Biserică creştină care, pe lângă prigoana suferită sub comunism, e alcătuită din cetăţeni români cu aceleaşi drepturi?”

Problema nu e ca unii monahi spun despre catolici ca sunt “eretici”, problema e daca gestul Mitropolitului Corneanu e corect. Or, Teodor Baconsky refuza sa spuna clar daca gestul Mitropolitului e corec sau nu e corect. Ca validarea reciproca a Sfintelor Taine e o realitate, asta stiam si eu si nu contest acest aspect.

Ma asteptam de la Baconsky e sa spuna clar daca e corect sau nu ce a facut Mitropolitul Corneanu. Baconsky refuza sa spuna si ca Vaticanul interzice clar administrarea Euharistiei ortodocsilor si protestantilor. Radu Preda a subliniat bine acest aspect in conferinta AZEC.
